THE BRIEF
Coats is a 200-year old worldwide, industrial thread company. One segment of their business is denim thread.

THE CHALLENGE
Coats needed a compact reference guide including actual thread samples that their sales force could give to denim designers around the world.

GOAL/PROCESS
Create a guide that is visually exciting and the “go-to-reference” for denim designers yet compact enough to be useable. It needed to include a compact disk, stitched denim samples with multiple sizes/colors of Coats’ thread, and product sales sheets.

UNIQUE SOLUTION
The pitch was to create a 3-ring notebook that was actually wrapped in jean pants with a tag to make it appear as if it could have come from one of the denim designers’ own retail stores. Once approved, bringing the concept to reality required multiple steps and vendors (fabric sourcing, pattern design, sewing and embroidery contractors, binding fabricator, and extensive printing).

I found Hajas Design to be a very professional company that tunes in to the customer. With their help I have accomplished a very valuable marketing and promotional tool that is unique. They were very easy to work with and have great creative and innovative minds. I don’t think I could have found anyone else to take my ramblings and turn them into this unique piece. While we can’t measure sales against this initiative, it has become the most sought after tool globally for this company and the most talked about. We are using it in many countries around the world to get the word out that we are the best thread supplier for innovative products and education.
